Today we look at The Gospel of John’s account of Jesus cleansing the temple. The temple is where the people of God went to practice their religion. They knew there is a God. They knew they didn’t measure up to God’s standards. Their religion then consisted of what they did to get right with God. They used a system of sacrifices.
When Jesus drove out the Cattle, sheep, doves and money changers, Jesus effectively was putting an end to business as usual. What would replace the Temple as a center for meeting with God and what would replace the sacrifices made to get us right with God?
Join me as we discover that the answer to both those questions is the person of Jesus Christ.
